Roy Y. Gagaza Individual Bio
Following over 25 years of service in the U.S. Army, retired officer Roy Y. Gagaza realized he needed a retirement plan. But he had yet to learn that his route to retirement would assist his clients in reaching the same destination. With the professional objective of providing others with the financial resources they require and the excellent financial advice they deserve, he has a unique financial planning and counselling background. "I left the military on September 30, 2008, after nearly twenty-five years of service. At ten years into my career, though, my wife and I began to consider our post-military plans "The officer with two Bronze Stars was mentioned during an interview. During his final 10 years in the military, he realized he needed a profession outside of the military and began providing financial counselling and educational lectures.
His military service has given him a firm foundation for hard work and a practical attitude to education and business. Recently, he added, "I enjoy working with customers aged 55 and older. I interact better with those that are older than I am. They have experienced and witnessed so much in their lifetime." By leveraging his experience and turning it into profits for his customers, he has assisted them in achieving their ideal retirement by developing well-considered financial strategies that take a personalized approach to their desires and objectives. In addition, he has taken the time to design individualized ways for each customer and to get to know each individual and their families, thereby establishing and sustaining long-lasting relationships that provide excellent outcomes.
With a lengthy history of working with local school systems, CPAs, the highway patrol, Chambers of Commerce, and others, he has been proud to assist the community by educating people from all walks of life about financial matters. After graduating from San Jose State University with a bachelor's degree in business administration, Roy Y. Gagaza obtained certifications as a Financial Professional, Certified Estate Planner, and Registered Financial Consultant, as well as insurance licenses from Hawaii and California. During his military service in Hawaii and repeated visits to the islands throughout his Army career, he decided to test the Hawaiian market by hosting a lecture on the island.
He has also observed a substantial difference between these two primary markets. Hawaiian clients tend to be more principled, whereas tech-savvy Northern Californians are eager to trade equities and take unnecessary risks. These divergent groupings demand a delicate approach, urging conservative planners to take on a little more risk while attempting to mitigate risk for others who believe Gagaza's area of expertise is not investing in high-risk equities. In an interview, he said, "The goal for me is to help my clients preserve their wealth and have a lifetime income."
In addition to his military awards, he has received several civilian awards for his work, including the Advisors Excel Elite Advisor Award every year since 2018, the Allianz Century Award for 100 million dollars in premium, and the Security Benefit Elite Advisor Award in 2018 and 2020. Roy and his wife Patricia were recently inducted into the Advisors Excel Hall of Fame. Roy Y. Gagaza has led numerous instructional seminars that continue to reach tens of thousands of folks nearing or in retirement. His financial advice enables them to retain their assets, adopt tax-efficient ways to lower their tax liability and build retirement income strategies, allowing them to enjoy their senior years in peace. In addition to advising clients on retirement investing, he encourages them to construct spending plans anchored in reality. He discovers that many people encounter difficulties approximately five years before and after retirement. "People enter their "red zone" when they believe they have achieved success. They then proceed to say: "Let us embark on this cruise. Now, let us consider 12 of them." Nonetheless, there must be a delicate balance and a plan in place prior to doing so."
In addition to delivering a thorough, holistic approach to planning for numerous persons by utilizing asset preservation, risk reduction, and principal protection, he also believes in community development outside the workplace. In an on-demand, fast-paced society, he establishes long-term relationships with his clients and their families, separating him from most financial advisors. This intimate relationship with his clientele has positioned him well for long-term, sustainable financial growth; he has stated, "I'd rather build a firm on recommendations than have a few large clients." He routinely doubles customer donations to philanthropic organizations, especially those centred on the military, such as U.S. Vets and Folds of Honor. Because they understand the challenges that military families face daily, his family recognizes the significance of supporting military personnel as they transition from active duty and military life to civilian life, including housing, mental health, wellness, workforce development, and individualized support for each veteran's needs.
Yet, outside of the office, he's led a rich and fulfilling life. Patricia, his wife, business partner, and co-founder has been by his side for the past 24 years and has served as his military wife for many years. Grant, their youngest child, opted to follow in his father's footsteps after getting a Business Finance degree and a Life and Health Insurance license from the University of Pacific. Mackenzie, their middle child, holds a Master of Education in Literacy and teaches English to high school students. Kyrie, the eldest child, is also married and recently gave birth to Eleanor, the first granddaughter of Roy and Patricia. Kyrie maintains her job as the Senior Team Lead, Marketing Operations at Yardi Systems, a real estate software company, with a Master of Business Administration.
Roy Y. Gagaza enjoys spending time in the sea, paddle boarding, snorkelling, diving, refining his golf game, snowboarding, and unwinding with a good book when he is not with his family.
